THE NEED FOR A Statutory LEVY
Greyhounds are more than just racers; they’re cherished companions who deserve the highest standard of care from birth to retirement. Sadly, the current reliance on voluntary contributions from bookmakers is unsustainable, putting essential welfare programmes at risk.
GBGB is asking all betting companies to commit to a minimum contribution of their turnover from greyhound racing towards greyhound welfare, replacing the current voluntary levy, where bookmakers contribute only a fraction of their profits if they choose to participate
